WTG2025 and TransDia Sport Deutschland e.V. at the City Festival 2024 in Dresden

From August 16th to 18th, 2024, the heart of Dresden came alive with excitement as the city celebrated its annual Stadtfest. Among the many attractions, the stand of the World Transplant Games 2025 and TransDia Sport Deutschland e.V., hosted on the historic Altmarkt, drew considerable attention.

The stand was more than just an information point—it was an interactive experience. Visitors were greeted by a stunning XXL heart model that was not only impressive in size but also walkable, offering a unique, immersive look into the human heart. This striking visual was accompanied by a wealth of informational materials about the WTG2025, TransDia Sport Deutschland e.V., and the German Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA).

One of the highlights at the stand was the opportunity for visitors to engage directly with organ transplant recipients. These inspiring individuals shared their personal experiences and provided valuable insights into the current state of organ donation in Germany, as well as details about the upcoming World Transplant Games 2025, which will be hosted in Dresden.

In addition to the informative aspects, the stand offered a interactive activity for visitors. The slow-cycling competition, where the slowest cyclist could win a prize, was a popular highlight among the people of Dresden.

On Saturday afternoon, the stand featured a special collaboration with Junge Helden e.V. and their Opt.Ink organ donation tattoo campaign, along with Eastside Tattoo Studio Dresden. Five lucky participants won a free tattoo appointment, allowing them to proudly display their support for organ donation with a meaningful tattoo.

The presence of WTG2025 and TransDia Sport Deutschland e.V. at the Stadtfest not only raised awareness about organ donation but also built anticipation for the World Transplant Games in August 2025. The event was a significant step in connecting with the community and spreading the message of hope and life that organ transplantation represents.
