Yesterday evening, the venue sports managers of the 17 sports at the World Transplant Games 2025 gathered at the Brauhaus am Waldschlösschen in Dresden for an important exchange on the upcoming games. The meeting focused on key aspects of sports organization, including finalizing venue setup and equipment planning, as the games approach their official start on August 17, 2025.

The venue sports managers play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of their respective sports. They bring expertise from regional and national sports federations, local clubs, and experience in organizing major sporting events.

WTG2025 Track&Field venue sports manager Uwe Funk, a member of the WTG2025 host organization TransDia Sport Deutschland e.V., as well as Head of Track&Field and Board Member of SGV Murr e.V., shared his excitement:
“I am thrilled to be part of this unique sporting event. Together, we are working towards hosting outstanding athletics competitions at the Heinz-Steyer-Stadium on August 22 and 23.”

A total of 14 venue sports managers attended the evening, making the most of the opportunity to share insights, strengthen collaboration, and engage in productive networking. As a special highlight, they also enjoyed a guided brewery tour before coming together for a relaxed dinner filled with lively discussions.

The team from CitySportMarketing GmbH, the full-service agency responsible for the concept, planning, marketing and execution of the World Transplant Games 2025, expressed their satisfaction with the meeting and the dedication of the venue sports directors.

“The venue sports managers are a crucial factor in the successful delivery of the World Transplant Games. We deeply appreciate their hard work so far and are excited to enter the final phase of preparations together,” said René Kindermann, Sports Director of CitySportMarketing GmbH.

The venues for WTG2025 in Dresden offer a diverse and world-class sporting experience. Among them are the recently renovated Heinz-Steyer-Stadium for track and field, the state-of-the-art BallsportARENA for 3×3 Basketball, and the Golf Course Dresden Ullersdorf. Additionally, Dresden’s beautiful Great Garden will be transformed into a competition venue for the 5K Run and the #ReasontoGive RUN by SachsenEnergie, a charity run open to both participants and the public.
