The World Transplant Games are about more than just sports competitions – they also feature an inspiring Opening Ceremony and a memorable Closing Ceremony that celebrate and unite the transplant community. Best of all, both events are completely free for spectators, and everyone is warmly invited to join.

Opening Ceremony

Join us for the World Transplant Games Opening Ceremony on 17th August at 5:30 pm at Heinz-Steyer-Stadium (Rudolf-Harbig-Weg 5, 01067 Dresden)

Enjoy a warm welcome from the WTGF, WTG team, and ambassadors as we launch a week of celebration and connection.

Highlights:

  • Live music by Bryan Staff and his band
  • Performance by the Dresden Boys’ Choir

Afterward, follow the pneumatic orchestra to the ICD for the Opening Dinner.

Networking Event

After the Opening Ceremony, participants will be guided to the ICD by the Druckluft Orchester. Full Package guests will enjoy their Welcome Dinner, while all other attendees are invited to the networking area, where food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Following the Welcome Dinner, everyone will come together to enjoy the evening, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display at 10pm.

Closing Ceremony

Join us for the final, unforgettable moment at the held at the infield of Heinz-Steyer-Stadium following the last competitions of the Games.

We will celebrate the gift of life and be thankful for the second chance we have. The „Circle of Life“ is bringing together athletes, donors and supporters to reflect and celebrate.

The “Circle of Life” made by 2.000 people will be a powerful symbol of the gift of life and the impact of organ donation.

The World Transplant Games Federation (WTGF) will also honor the incredible Team

Managers from all participating nations for their dedication and support.
