Arriving by Plane
Flying to Dresden is convenient, with direct connections to major German hubs and nearby international airports offering easy access to the city.
Most oversea passengers flying to or from Germany travel via Frankfurt am Main (FRA), one of Europe’s biggest airports, but Munich (MUC) and Düsseldorf (DUS) are also popular German international hubs. Other major German airports are in Berlin, Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart.
Dresden (DRS) has its own airport with a permanent connection to Frankfurt (4 times a day) and Munich (2 times a day). At least for guests arriving from outside Europe connecting flights via Frankfurt or Munich should be the first option. Alternatively, Dresden is accessible within less than two hours by train, car or bus from the airports of Berlin and Leipzig. Furthermore, it is possible to travel by plane via Prague (PRG) (Czech Republic). Please bear in mind that there is no direct connection from the airport Prague to Dresden. Therefore, transfer from Prague airport to the City of Prague is necessary.
