As in the past, hosting this unique event cannot be fully funded through government grants and sponsorships alone. Government support varies significantly from country to country, and we need to conclude this event with a balanced budget. Achieving this requires significant contributions from everyone involved – athletes, supporters, and the countless volunteers who make this event possible.
We – the Dresden Local Organizing Committee (LOC) – has carefully set registration fees based on a detailed budget to ensure the Games remain financially sustainable while meeting all commitments. To keep athlete fees as affordable as possible, the LOC has prioritized subsidies for athletes over reducing supporter package costs. We hope our supporters will view their package purchases as a gesture of donation, crowdfunding, or sponsorship – a heartfelt way to contribute and be part of this remarkable journey.
Despite financial constraints, we remain committed to optimizing costs wherever possible. For the FULL package, we have successfully negotiated excellent accommodation terms. For participants who prefer to arrange their own accommodation, we have introduced a LITE package. After careful recalculations, we are now able to offer this option at a reduced price of just €690. The Full Package prices remain unchanged, as we have already secured the maximum possible discounts.
In addition to lowering the LITE Package price, we have identified further opportunities to reduce costs for all participants. We are excited to announce that all packages will now include a simple late breakfast at the Games Hub, our vibrant WTG community space. This offering is designed for those not competing in the morning and aims to minimize additional expenses while fostering a stronger sense of community and promoting networking opportunities.
We, the Dresden LOC, have worked tirelessly to make the World Transplant Games a resounding success while ensuring they continue to raise awareness and inspire impactful policy changes to improve organ donation rates in Germany.
Let’s make the World Transplant Games 2025 an unforgettable festival of life, sports, and community.
