As we celebrate the holiday season, the entire team of the World Transplant Games 2025 wishes all participants, supporters, donors, and donor families a Merry Christmas and wonderful holidays spent with your loved ones.

Dresden is truly magical during this time of year, with its centuries-old Christmas traditions on full display. The city’s famous Striezelmarkt, now in its 590th year, is a must-see for its festive atmosphere, sparkling lights, and holiday cheer. Visitors and locals alike savor the iconic Dresdner Christstollen, traditional hand-baked bread filled with dried fruits and nuts, as well as warm Glühwein made from local Saxon vineyards. The craftsmanship of the Erzgebirge region shines through in its intricate wooden carvings and ornaments, adding to the festive ambiance.

This gallery of holiday photos gives you a glimpse into the charm of Dresden’s Christmas markets, from the radiant lights adorning the city’s historic squares to the beautiful little market stalls and their offers.

As we look ahead to August 2025, our anticipation for welcoming you all to Dresden grows. The Games will not only be a showcase of sporting excellence but also a celebration of life, resilience, and community. Together, we will make the World Transplant Games 2025 an unforgettable experience.

From all of us on the WTG2025 team, we wish you a joyful New Year and a fantastic start to 2025 – the year of the Games! Let’s make it a year of unity and achievement.

Warm holiday greetings from Dresden! 🎄🎅
